CloudCutter v1.2 completed another development phase. The version supported:
- reading and exporting E57 files;
- reading and exporting XYZ ASCII files;
- reading and exporting LAS files;
- reading and exporting LAZ files;
- multi-file processing workflows;
- an integrated top view and 3D visualization interface;
- creation of dozens or hundreds of organized outputs in one operation, subject to storage and dataset constraints.
The objective remained unchanged: help engineering teams prepare and organize large point-cloud datasets before downstream CAD and engineering activities.
Instead of manually creating and exporting many individual regions, users could define selections and generate a structured output set with a small number of actions. The attached demonstration documented the workflow at that stage.
This release also changed the product's identity. E57 was no longer the only source format, so the shorter name CloudCutter became more accurate.
E57, LAS, LAZ and XYZ point-cloud processing
The multi-format phase extended the same preparation workflow beyond E57. Common tasks include converting E57 to LAS, E57 to XYZ, LAS to E57, preparing XYZ for a downstream workflow, and generating multiple output files from one spatial selection session.
Exact format and attribute support should always be checked against the current product version before production use.
